Cruising taking tourism in PNG to new level
PNG’s recent introduction to mass cruising has opened up the destination to a new audience of intrigued travellers wanting to visit the island regions of this destination from the familiarity and comfort of a cruise-ship. Smaller, expedition cruises have been exploring PNG for years but now cruise companies, such as P&O Cruises are bringing thousands of people at a time – injecting the much needed tourist dollar into local communities.
New Do Kokoda website to raise profile
A new website, www.dokokoda.com, designed to raise the profile of Papua New Guinea’s most popular trek, Kokoda, has become a hub for past trekker testimonials and important trekking information. The site is a part of the bigger “Do Kokoda” campaign which encourages more trekkers to give Kokoda a go and invite passionate trekkers to share their inspiring, individual experiences.

PNG Welcomes First Hilton Hotels & Resorts Branded Hotel In Port Moresby
Hilton Worldwide (NYSE: HLT) announced on the 3rd of September 2015 the signing of its first Hilton Hotels & Resorts branded hotel in Papua New Guinea. Construction of a 16-storey, mixed-use tower housing the 212-room Hilton hotel, along with office and retail space and 128 apartments, is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2015 and be completed by late 2017.
